CIC E9x Rear Camera Installation

Hey guys,

I am in the process of installing the rear camera kit on my CIC conversion using the Chinese Emulator w/ PDC that has the 12V power source in it. I really wanted to use OEM camera module to accomplish the project but there is no such a case completed the way I wanted here so I have no guide to take that route. And my CIC running with all the features with intel123 method without any emulator.

I have purchased a camera that has 1280x720 pixel with sony chip on it. And later on I found out that the dimensions of the camera pixel is not really for the screen that will run on the CIC w/ PDC. I hope it will not be a hussle!

The trunk camera handle arrived and I installed all the way to the unit. The emulator still on its way and I will do the installation as soon as it arrives.

Before that I would like to share my installation steps.

Because the Emulator works w/ PDC module, I successfully integrated Front and Rear PDC couple weeks ago and it is working just fine.

I am planning to remove the battery negative cable and tap the wires to the proper places and make sure Can Bus cables intertwined pretty well to the end.

Since I have the US vehicle I will use wert23 (Pin 21-24) on RVC_CIC to power the Camera Video source. And then I am planning to add the $3AG and FA Write CAS/FRM + Default Code the CIC and use my custom TRC file to keep all my previous settings in place. But also I will try to find out what are the changing options after adding the $3AG and default code the CIC

And i have this on the Coding Table :

MACRO_PDC
aktiv
MACRO_REARVIEW
aktiv
RVC_CIC
wert_23
MACRO_L6_PARKMENU
aktiv
PDC_DIRECTION
vertika

TVC_WIDTH_0C (I do not know what that is but it is suggested by the Emulator company, If anyone knows the differences between wert_01 I will appreciate to hear it)
wert_02

My main question is Does anyone know what $3AG changes In CIC TRC file after default coding with this VO?

I will look all this lines written above to see what $3AG does to it but I will appreciate if anyone gone thru this before.

And hopefully I will not have any issue like many others had with this camera situation.

And another question that I really want to know is, Is that a good idea to run the camera wire thru the Emulator's 12V power source or get a 4 Pin Automotive relay and run thru the tail light reverse cable?

The reason I am asking this is, I read somewhere that when you run the power thru emulator, it gives constant power to camera even its not engaged with reverse shift. And I am wondering this will effect the life span of the emulator and fail a lot shorter than what its supposed to? And my theory is if I run the power thru reverse light, it will only power when the reverse shift engaged, and it will keep the emulator cool and not fail for a long time.

I will really appreciate any input on this before I do anything on this project.

Thank you.

And attach you will see the camera + Emulator that I purchased
